Acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God who lived a sinless life and willingly gave His life as a sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. (John 1:14, 3:16)
Believe that salvation – the forgiveness of sins – is only by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:7)
Recognize the Bible is God’s Word to all people. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105, 160)
Practice baptism (immersion) of believers into Jesus Christ. It is our natural response of faith when we choose to follow Jesus. (Acts 2:38-41; Romans 6:1-7; Galatians 3:26-27)
Observe the Lord’s Supper (communion) weekly remembering that Jesus Christ gave His life as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. (Acts 2:42)
Encourage our church community to live a life which is obviously marked by God. (Hebrews 10:24)
Regard ourselves not as the only Christians in the world, but just Christians working to find unity with all believers. (Acts 10:34-35)
Welcome all who desire to take another step closer in their spiritual journey with Jesus Christ.
Discipleship and Faithfulness
We believe the distinguishing characteristic of Christ followers is someone who lives in God’s Kingdom in Christ-likeness. Discipleship is the fundamental ministry of the local church. Love for others displayed in ministering to the poor, reaching out to people who are spiritually lost, serving others, practicing forgiveness, and the like are all signs of the presence of God’s Kingdom and ministry of the Holy Spirit. Those with genuine faith are known by the fruit of their lives and their pattern of faithfulness to Jesus and His commandments. Thus, the local church becomes a counter-culture community, whose members live Christ-centered lives.
